Public Meetings
A public meeting is required by law before the Town Board can act on proposed town laws. The purpose of a public meeting is for the Town Board to hear the views of the residents of the Town on whether the proposed new zoning law should be enacted or rejected.
If it is enacted, it will replace the current Sheldon zoning law that has been in place since it was last amended in 2020. If it is rejected, the current law will remain in place.
