Supervisor Becker announced that the Town Board would enter into another one-year agreement with the County to provide Zoning Officer services.  Thomas Jorgensen questioned why there was no public notice as to the opening in this position and no consideration of the two residents of the Town who have expressed interest in this position.  Board member Jim Fontaine said that any local applicants would be considered next year.

Supervisor Becker updated his report on retaining a lawyer to assist with negotiations with Invenergy about a follow-on agreement with respect to revenue for the Town from the existing 75 windmills operating in the Town.

Supervisor Becker repeated his advice that he has no information from Invenergy with respect to any new windmill project in the Town of Sheldon.  Invenergy is pursuing solar projects in the Town.

Town Clerk Zittel reported that an Invenergy representative had appeared at the Clerk’s office in connection with the required solicitation permit.  Invenergy has been soliciting land leases for its projects in the town since May 2024 but had no permit.  The Clerk has now issued a permit.  No penalty will be imposed for the lack of any permit for nearly a year.
